At Canadian Bilingual Institute-Language courses Bratislava, we are very much aware of the fact how much importance language learning has in life presently. We believe that the sooner a person begins with study the better. Our language school therefore also offers language courses for young people. These are specially designed English language courses for primary and secondary schools, designed to inspire them in a foreign language and to create a positive attitude to learning. Courses are open in the following categories:

Language courses for youths 11 to 15 years

• Teachers in the classroom use picture stories, flashcards, songs, rhymes, games associated with movement. This way your teenager is adapting various sentence structures and phrases or expressions in a meaningful context which motivates him/her even more.
• Teenagers are learning to talk about themselves, their family, hobbies, sports, or other interesting topics appropriate to their age. Lecturers encourage them to express their ideas using simple English. Any attempt or reply is positively reviewed by the lecturer. Teenagers are constantly praised and motivated during the course.
• Lecturers give teenagers simple instructions in the target language, and help them with non-verbal communication such as gestures, facial expressions, pictures or authentic items. They learn to understand the information in a foreign language and adequately respond to them. The course is taught exclusively in English.
• Training is highly interactive; teenagers are working with the teacher, in pairs or groups, which will also teach them to cooperate. The lecturer puts an effort in rotation activities, developing imagination, summary repetition of language and the development of cognitive and social skills.

At the beginning language courses for young people focus mainly on developing speaking and listening. In teaching the higher grade teenagers, there is a development of all language skills-reading, writing, speaking and listening:

• Lecturers use interesting projects that motivate teenagers to study English in their teaching. Teaching materials include imaginative and appealing topics that reflect the real interests and hobbies of teenagers.
• Training is highly interactive, students work with the teacher, in pairs, or in groups. They debate lively during lessons, act, sing songs and work with its text; they form dialogue while gaining new information about the world around them. The course is taught exclusively in English.

Youths learn grammar and vocabulary through continuous texts. The focus is on the active development of speech, providing real context for language use and comprehensive and systematic repetition of language.
